Luyens jean
Presentation
Born in Ostend 1932 to a family of sailors, Jean Luyens went to school in England during the war 40-45.
When back in Belgium, he studied art at the St Luc Academy in Ghent.
After being art director in different advertising agencies he chose to become a free lance illustrator : visualising layouts and story-boards.
As pure artistic activity does mostly watercolours, organising exhibitions in Brussels, Ostend, Antwerp also in England and France.
As a Member of the famous association of « The Belgian Marine Artists », now dissolved, he brought since 1997 to the Association a work of finesse that deserves the admiration of his new confreres. His "British" watercolors are a perfect transposition of the sumptuous yachts of the past.
