BORYS BURYAK
"Wink of a painter of Ukraine on Belgium"
Exhibition from January 27 to February 26, 2006
We know the work of Borys Buryak who defends the colors of Ukrainian painting at the K Gallery for several years now. His style reflects a very personal conception of reality and shows how an artist in full possession of his technique can create a universe whose coherence and originality meets the favor of a growing public. He excels in still life, in feminine nudes and landscapes, all treated in a warm and light-filled material. This matter is both tender and rough, playing on the contrasts of appearance and who does not hesitate to take liberties with the strict observation of beings and things. Because Buryak is above all a great interpreter of nature. A purveyor of emotions and moods, a catalyst of feelings and impressions. He passes reality through a vibrant color and an all-powerful light. Distilled light with restraint, however, which radiates the canvas more than it invades. The K Gallery is pleased to inaugurate the year 2006 with a selection of his recent works among which we will find a series of paintings devoted to Belgium, country that the artist loves and which he gives us a transcription faithful to his vision natural things.
