Tibor dengyel - prisoner of war - april 1945 - soviet camp
YEARS OF WAR
During the war 40 / 45l Hungary being co-belligerent of Germany, Tibor Dengyel was enlisted in the Hungarian army In April 1945, Tibor Dengyel was taken prisoner by the Soviet Army and interned in a camp for a short time. He spent his time sketching his captive companions and at the request of the Camp Commander, he painted a portrait of Stalin based on a photo. This job will earn him early release. Below, some sketches of prisoners (10x7) taken from a series of 31 sketches made by Tibor Dengyel during his stay in the camp in April 1945.
